Thanks, Nick! I know none of the systems are perfect, but we can do so much better. What is it, 15 yrs since Hillary Clinton tried to tackle it? And got slammed! Our current system is so inefficient when it IS working, I shudder to think about the poor souls outside of it.

And I personally worry for my girlfriends who don't get screened regularly.

I'm glad you caught it in time.
Canada has a public health system, but one of the problems is what it doesn't cover. So if you want better (or just efficient) coverage, you need private health care too, which is only available to those that qualify. Sound familiar? If the US is headed for a Canadian system, don't be alarmed: Canadians are not euthanyzing the aged, disabled or poor. And to be honest, the US system has always been an example of what not to do.
Basically, there is no one perfect answer. But from the Cold North, we are watching with interest.
