I like to use Arial for text documents. On web sites I often use Verdana or Tahoma - but I'm no designer. Even with sIFR unusual fonts are risky on web sites. I don't blame you for rolling your eyes at all the Blogs extolling it's virtues, though! I like your alternatives, and have in fact adopted Myriad Pro (as opposed to just Myriad) as my business brand typeface. Classic, stylish, modern and clean.
